What You'll Need

  • The keyfob itself
  • The built-in emergency key
  • New CR2032 battery

Step-by-Step Instructions

1

Remove the emergency key

Press the release button on the back of the keyfob and pull out the emergency key.

2

Open the battery compartment

Insert the tip of the emergency key into the slot on the back of the fob and twist gently to lever off the battery cover.

3

Replace the battery

Lift out the old CR2032 battery. Insert the new CR2032 with the positive (+) side facing UP. Press until it sits flat.

4

Refit the cover and test

Press the battery cover back on until it clicks. Reinsert the emergency key and test the Lock, Unlock and Boot buttons.

Pro Tip

The Panamera uses the same KESSY keyfob as the Cayenne and Macan — the battery replacement procedure is identical across all Porsche models.

Key Still Not Working?

If a fresh battery doesn't fix the issue, the problem is likely the vehicle's KVM module, a de-synced transponder, or a faulty key — not the battery. We diagnose and fix this on-site, same day.
