How To Change The Keyfob Battery For A Range Rover Autobiography (2018–2024)
The Range Rover Autobiography (2018–2024, L405 facelift) uses the same updated JLR InControl smart key as the Vogue. Battery replacement takes about 3 minutes.
What You'll Need
- The keyfob itself
- Flat screwdriver or coin
- New CR2032 battery
Step-by-Step Instructions
Slide out the emergency blade
Press the release button on the side of the fob and slide out the metal emergency key.
Open at the seam gap
Use the flat edge of the emergency blade to prise open the two halves at the seam. Twist gently.
Replace the battery
Remove the old CR2032 and insert the new one with the positive (+) side facing UP.
Reassemble and test
Clip the two halves shut firmly. Reinsert the blade and test all buttons.

The Autobiography uses the same keyfob and CR2032 battery as the Range Rover Vogue — the procedure is identical.
