How To Change The Keyfob Battery For A Jaguar E-Pace (2018–2024)
The Jaguar E-Pace (2018–2024) uses the standard JLR proximity smart key. Replacing the CR2032 battery is quick and easy.

What You'll Need
- The keyfob itself
- Flat screwdriver or coin
- New CR2032 battery
Step-by-Step Instructions
Remove the emergency blade
Press the release tab and slide out the emergency blade.
Open the casing at the seam
Insert a coin or the flat edge of the blade into the seam gap and twist gently to separate the two halves.
Replace the battery
Lift out the old CR2032 battery and place the new one in with the + side UP.
Close and test
Snap the two halves shut, reinsert the blade, and confirm the buttons work.
Pro Tip
E-Pace keyfobs share the same CR2032 battery type with all JLR smart keys from 2016 onwards — one battery type fits all.
Key Still Not Working?
If a fresh battery doesn't fix the issue, the problem is likely the vehicle's KVM module, a de-synced transponder, or a faulty key — not the battery. We diagnose and fix this on-site, same day.
