How To Change The Keyfob Battery For A Jaguar F-Pace (2020–2024)
Changing the keyfob battery for your Jaguar F-Pace (2020–2024) is a simple process you can do at home. You'll need the key, a flat screwdriver, and a new CR2032 battery.

What You'll Need
- The keyfob itself
- Flat screwdriver or coin
- New CR2032 battery
Step-by-Step Instructions
Slide out the emergency blade
Locate the small release button or slider on the side of the keyfob. Press and hold it, then slide the metal emergency blade out fully.
Locate the opening gap
With the emergency blade removed, you'll see two small gaps on the side of the keyfob casing. This is where you'll open the shell.
Open the keyfob
Insert the flat part of the emergency blade (or a flat screwdriver) into one of the side gaps. Gently twist to create a small opening. If there's resistance, try the other gap. Do not force it — the plastic clips open easily with the right angle.
Separate the two halves
Once there's a small opening, work your flat screwdriver around the seam of the keyfob, gently unclipping the two halves. Take your time and avoid cracking the plastic casing.
Remove the old battery
With the keyfob open, you'll see the CR2032 battery. Use your fingernail or the edge of the screwdriver to carefully lift it out. Avoid touching the circuit board components.
Insert the new battery
Take your new CR2032 battery and place it in the compartment with the positive (+) side facing UP. Press it down gently until it seats flat and securely.
Reassemble the keyfob
Align the two halves of the keyfob and press them firmly together around the seam until you hear a click. Check there are no gaps between the halves.
Reinsert the emergency blade
Slide the emergency blade back into the keyfob until it clicks into position. Test all the buttons to confirm the new battery is working.
Pro Tip
If the buttons feel unresponsive after replacing the battery, try standing close to the car and pressing Lock or Unlock a few times to re-sync the remote.
Key Still Not Working?
If a fresh battery doesn't fix the issue, the problem is likely the vehicle's KVM module, a de-synced transponder, or a faulty key — not the battery. We diagnose and fix this on-site, same day.
