How To Change The Keyfob Battery For A Jaguar XE (2020–2024)
The 2020–2024 Jaguar XE uses the same updated smart key as the XF facelift. Battery replacement takes under 5 minutes.
What You'll Need
- The keyfob itself
- Flat screwdriver or coin
- New CR2032 battery
Step-by-Step Instructions
Remove the emergency blade
Press the release tab and slide the emergency key blade out.
Open the casing
Insert the blade tip or a coin into the seam gap and twist to separate the two halves.
Replace the battery
Lift out the old CR2032 and insert the new one, positive (+) side UP.
Reassemble
Clip the two halves firmly back together until they snap shut.
Reinsert the blade and test
Slide the blade back in and test all buttons.
Pro Tip
After replacing the battery, stand within 1 metre of the car and press the unlock button to re-establish the proximity connection.
